To the River 4-4

Finally for the first time since moving here we made it to the American River confluence.  We needed to work off yesterday's wonderful but rich food.  I took a bunch of pictures so I'll be spreading these out over a few days.

Today's walk was over the very large cement retired railroad bridge that we see every time we go back and forth through the canyon and over the river.  The river is still very high, cold and deep rich green.  There were lots of flowers and butterflies fluttering around them.

Starting our trek across the bridge looking down river.

On the right side you can see a trail and we took that down to the river and ended out there on that point of rocks

Bicycles, feet and equines now traverse this historical engineering marvel
