Weaverville, Ca 8-15-08

The day started in a truly shocking way…I got out of bed and started my day at SIX A.M….before sunrise! Had to be done, we still had more loading to do and we had to get the house closed up and I had to give it a quick polish.

We pulled out just before 8:30. We took 395 north out of Reno to Susanville took 36 to Highway 44 north to 299 west, fuel in Redding and then on to Weaverville. We hit bugs outside of Fallon so our windshield was a mess so no pictures through our old stomping grounds. It was really hot today; it was in the 80’s already when we pulled out. It was 112 in Redding and 108 when we got into Weaverville. These pictures are of Whiskeytown Lake on 299 west of Redding, its water level was nice and high but the terrain was scarred by fire.

We got into our RV park on the west side of Weaverville around 2:40. We had traveled 304 miles today. I took the picture of our site at 4:30 as we left for dinner and by the time we got back the wind had shifted and we were socked in with smoke and ash.

We found a place with steak for dinner; it isn’t every day that a woman turns 25 for the umpteenth time! Hey, that would be me! Had a nice dinner but one of the foolish women messed with the air conditioner controls and while it was comfortable when we sat down for dinner it was almost unbearably warm by the time we left and none of the employees knew how to fix it. We found a lovely chocolate cake at the local market for dessert and headed home.

This park isn’t a stunner by any means, but it is the only game in town so is pricey…I hate when places do that…just because they can. It is convenient, only about 3.5 – 4 miles from the airport where Larry will be running back and forth from the next several days. One of these days I’ll explain more what the Com. Trailer is and try to get some pictures of it.

Hey man! Just because you're the author of this blog doesn't mean that you get away with no baby pictures on your birthday missy. Lets see 'em.
