Dead Colt Creek 7/14

Here is our lovely home for this weekend.

These following pictures are of the sunset last night! Stunning!

We saw this overworked mother on our way out from camp. There was actually another hen but she didn't cross the road with the brood! I counted 28 little ones.

Today we did a load of laundry, drove and walked around Valley City retracing familial roots, had lunch, restocked on milk, bread and fruit, fueled the truck and headed home.

Tomorrow I'll tell you about Valley City. Today, all anyone could talk about was the heat. It doesn't get much out of the 80's ever and for it to be almost 100 for this many days is news. People are melting. Being from California we just thought it was normal summer weather. No, the last time they broke 100 here was back in 1995.

The sun is just setting at 9:10 and it is 88 degrees. Our time clocks are all off with these longs days and heat. Gotta enjoy it while its here!
