Hot 6-24

Not too much going on around here, today was in the mid 90's and currently it is 82 at 10:10 p.m. but with a nice breeze.

Yesterday we had a lovely drive to our eye appointments and we both passed! My vision is 20/20 but as it has always been better than that I keep feeling like something is wrong...some things not as clear as I was used to but I guess I'll just have to adjust...smile. I still need reading glasses for some things...makes me look Grannyish.

On our way home and for the first time ever we stopped at Boomtown on highway 80 in Verdi, NV to have some lunch at Denny's, but that was a bust...after an hour's wait and then getting served incorrect orders we left hungry and cranky and didn't get to go into the casino and win our millions! We had a wonderful dinner at the Black Bear Diner in Fernley and it took 37 minutes from parking in the parking lot to leaving the parking lot....how nice.

I have been using Wii Fit every day for a week now and on our walk this morning I noticed that I am now walking with better posture and balance...something I wasn't even aware that needed fixing. Being aware of our centers of balance, posture, lower body strength and cores make for a much happier body. Larry had been doing it too and I have found I am competitive...if his score passes mine, I start working to get back in 1st place...which makes me work harder and longer...good for me and it makes Larry laugh at me.

As a side note, they are working on fixing highway 80 between the border and Colfax, that area that I complained about a year ago or so as being the worst highway we had ever been on. Also if you are driving anywhere in Oregon, the highway speed statewide is 55...used to be 65 and they are happily filling their coffers by writing tickets so beware! It sure makes driving along the high desert highways tedious, especially after doing 70 here in Nevada and 65 in California.
